Incredible story of 19th century socialite who was kept prisoner for 25 years by her mother for wanting to marry the wrong man.

Blanche Monnier was just like every other 25-year-old in 1876 France, trying to settle down before she ran out of time. She met and fell in love with an older broke lawyer who her aristocratic mother didn't approve of. One day Blanche vanished without a trace, her mother and brother went through the motions, mourned for her and carried on with life. But they held a terrible secret, Blanche was locked up in the attic, living in her own filth.
On may 23rd 1901, the office of The Attorney General of Paris received an anonymous letter which read : 'Monsieur Attorney General: I have the honor to inform you of an exceptionally serious occurrence. I speak of a spinster who is locked up in Madame Monnier's house, half starved, and living on a putrid litter for the past twenty-five years – in a word, in her own filth'.

Shocked by the letter, police decided to investigate the estate despite Monnier's family sterling reputation. A group of officers broke into the house, searched the premises and upstairs noticed a padlocked door. When they removed the lock, a horrifying smell filled their noses.

They were met by a most astonishing sight, a malnourished woman weighing just 55 pounds, covered in bits of food and faeces squinted at them as she beheld the light and humans she had not set eyes on for 25 years.
A witness described the gruesome discovery:
'The unfortunate woman was lying completely naked on a rotten straw mattress. All around her was formed a sort of crust made from excrement, fragments of meat, vegetables, fish, and rotten bread.'
'We also saw oyster shells and bugs running across Mademoiselle Monnier's bed,' he went on. 'The air was so unbreathable, the odor given off by the room was so rank, that it was impossible for us to stay any longer to proceed with our investigation.'

Madame Monnier, who had won an award from the Committee of Good Works for her generous contributions to the city, was immediately arrested.
She died 15 days later after admitting the crime to police.

When her daughter refused to back down on her relationship with the lawyer, Madame Monnier locked her up in a tiny room until she gave in.

For 25 years, Blanche only ate scraps from her mother's meals. Her punishment continued even after the death of her lover in 1885.

Blanche's brother Marcel stood trial for helping her mother in the ordeal and was initially sentenced to 15 months in prison. He was later acquitted on claims that Blanche could have left at any time, but chose not to. He walked free to the horror of the crowd in the courtroom.

Blanche Monnier, also known in France as La Séquestrée de Poitiers, died in 1913 in a sanitarium in Bois.

Brad Pitt & Angelina hold hands & praise each other in new interview.

The couple who did their first movie together in 10 years praised each other in a new interview to promote the movie, By The Sea, written and directed by Jolie. Speaking about her decision to undergo preventative double mastectomy in 2013, and the surgery to remove her ovaries earlier this year, Brad said;
'There was no vanity to my wife's approach,' the 51-year-old said. 'It was mature. There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.'
Angelina, 40, went on to discuss how her mother had a secret pact with her surgeon.
'We had some of the same nurses, some of the same doctors,' she told interviewer, Tom Brokaw. "So, the doctor that did my ovary surgery was my mother's doctor. And apparently my mother had said to her, "Promise me you will take Angie's ovaries out." So when we kind of got together, we both had a big cry, and she said, "I promised your mother, and I gotta do this."
"We can't say what the whole film is about, but a lot of the film was when I went to visit my mom in the hospital, when she found out she had cancer the first time, she was gonna have her ovaries removed, (and) she was very upset, feeling like... they're taking out her parts that were female, and there was a woman down the hall who was wailing. I later found out it was a young woman who had not had children yet, and that put everything into perspective.'
'Every woman is different when they go through menopause, and...I didn't know emotionally how I would feel,' the star admitted. 'I knew the breast would be a bigger surgery and physically changing. The ovaries is more, your hormones changing and your emotions changing, but it's different. You feel different.'
'She was doing it for the kids,' the actor said proudly of his wife, 'and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.'
Angelina Jolie said her health experience strengthened their marriage.
'I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn't something where I was gonna feel less of a woman because my husband wasn't gonna let that happen. To face these issues together and speak about them and talk about what it is to be human, I think can be a beautiful thing.'

Photos: Lesbian Couple advertises for a sperm donor on Facebook.

Ashleigh Habgood and Alley Williams are asking for a sperm donor on Facebook. The New Zealand lesbian couple shared their photos on October along with the advert and a long list of requirements.
This is not a hack: So... Alley and I have been tossing up whether to put this on Facebook and there will be many (including a part of myself) who cringe at this but hey... we advertise on FB for everything else so why not a sperm donor. Thats right. We need sperm! Some of you may have noticed that we are a same sex couple, (though I have occasionally been been called "Sir" in public) and therefore we lack a vital ingredient for baby making.
But why do we need to do this, you may ask… Aren’t there organisations for this kind of thing??
Well, yeah there are and we are on the list but…there is a SERIOUS sperm shortage in this country. At this point, it takes 18 months to get to the top of the sperm donor list and then, if you're lucky, you get a choice of 3 donors. Not ideal. We are also looking into adoption but would love to give birth to our own chidlet as well.

We are looking for sperm with the following factors:
1. A kind heart.
2. Intelligence (though this can be measured in a myriad of ways... i.e. if you don't know what myriad means, that doesn't mean you're not intelligent.)
3. You don't want to be a dad. You just want to be a cool dude that helped us out. Though these details can be discussed. And yes, the baby would know who you are... "The kind man who gave us some sperm." NOT "Daddy."
4. You have a clear medical history. Ideally no diabetes, heart conditions or other genetic conditions. No HIV either please:)
5. You are taller than us. Not hard, but we're already stunted enough.
6. You are 45 or younger. Sorry…. after 45, the risks of Autism, Schizophrenia and Dwarfism increase. And, as I mentioned, we’re already hobbits!
Optional extras:
1. You are not white. We're not racist, just would love a mixed bub. .... But really, come one, come all.... We think you're all beautiful. Any ethnicity is amazing.
2. You're athletic.
3. You're creative.
4. You’re curious.
5. You're successful in your field. (That has nothing to do with $$)
Dream world extras
1. You're an All Black.
2. You're an amazing lover. (But no, we don't want to have sex with you..... we just want to bring more amazing lovers into this world.)
3. You own a sweet kids clothing label that can kit out our bub 24/7.
4. You are ‪#‎stromae‬.

OBVIOUSLY at the end of the day we just want a healthy baby who we can dote on forever.
Boy, girl? Black, white? Short, tall? We don't care. But hey... Everyone else gets to choose their baby when they choose their partner. If I could smoosh Alley's freckles and everlasting positivity with my extreme good looks, intelligence and undeniable modesty, then I would, but no matter how hard Alley and I run at each other, it just ain't working. We've even stopped using protection!
So seeing as we don’t get the luxury of combining our awesome genes.. we figure we should be kinda picky... I mean, this bub will be our life for the next.... 55 years... (depending on how the medical industry progresses).
So, if you're interested in being an amazing gift of love and kindness... drop us an email.
We have so much pent up cluckiness that needs to be released but.... WE NEED YOU!

P.S. For anyone reading this that doesn’t know us….
All you need to know is, we’re married, we’ve been best friends since we were 15, we’re 28/29, we own our own business, we have maximum time and energy for a baby, but we don't want to conceive until 2017 at the earliest.
We love kids! We already have 800 of them that we teach every week but we want our own little one. We’ve travelled and lived
A LOT and we’re ready to start a family. However, we’re not ready to settle down…. this saying never really resonated with us.

We will keep having fun with our bub/bubs until the dad we die:) Travel, adventure, learning is what we’re all about!

P.P.S
As this post is traveling the country, concerns/questions have been raised about the legalities. Long story short, if we don't know you, we will be doing this insemination through a doctor. This means that you are legally "the sperm donor" and NOT "the father". You will have no legal rights to the child, which means that you would NEVER be asked to pay anything towards the child. And also means, you get no say over how the baby is raised. However, as we mention above, we are keen to find a donor with the same core values as us, and someone who is interested in being present (even if just on birthdays) in the baby's life. If anyone has any other concerns or questions, (that DON'T include questioning our sexuality) then let us know.

Khloe returns to Lamar's side after date with BF, James Harden

Khloe Kardashian on Friday returned to husband Lamar Odom's hospital bedside after taking a break to support her boyfriend James Harden at the Houston Rockets home opener on Wednesday. The reality star who insisted she's not planning to get back with Lamar yet or if all all, was spotted at the Houston Rockets Denver Nuggets game on Wednesday cheering on James Harden before returning to LA to continue to be there for Lamar...
"I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it. For medical decisions and a ton of other things, it's just smarter that it's put on hold. But that does not mean I'm back with Lamar. It's not even in our brains to think about us having a relationship. Only time will tell." she told People Mag.
